Telefonica Peru and Ericsson have announced 2015 plans to deploy a project to provide internet access via 4G LTE technology to governmental entities including schools and healthcare centres, in the Peruvian Amazon. According to the companies, this is the first project in Latin America to use 4G technology as fixed wireless internet access to address the needs of remote rural areas with difficult geography.
