Telefonica, via its Brazilian subsidiary Telesp, has acquired a controlling stake in domestic cable TV operator TVA Sistema de Televisao.

Telefonica acquired a 49 percent TVA stake from Lemontree, the company that owns 80.1 percent of the shares of TVA. Telefonica thus completes the TVA acquisition, started back in 2007 with the purchase of TVA’s MMDS operation.
