Brazil’s Vivo further extends 4G network in 8 more cities

VivoBrazilian mobile operator Vivo has activated its 4G network in another 8 cities in six states (Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco, Roraima and Acre). The new cities are Braganca Paulista, Piracicaba, Gramado, Canela, Vespasiano, Porto Velho, Rio Branco and Sao Lourenco da Mata. The operator now reaches 94 municipalities with 4G, where 65.3 million people live.

Vivo claims the market lead in 4G, with a share of 39 percent of customers, according to the latest data released by Anatel. The operator offers 4G data plans from 2 GB to 6 GB, including unlimited calls to Vivo and unlimited SMS to any operator, from BRL 149. For modems and tablets, the plans go from 3 GB to 20 GB, with prices starting at BRL 69.90.
